Pottery taster course
Saturday - Sunday, 8 hours
Hand ceramics in build-up technique
For the curious & creative
Would you like to try your hand at pottery – without a potter's wheel? Then this course is just right for you! We will model ceramic objects using a free-building technique – just as the mood takes you. On the first day, you will use your hands to create personal favorite pieces such as cups, bowls, plates, balls or imaginative decorative objects – simple or playful, just as you like. On Sunday, you will learn about engobe painting and bring your pieces to life with natural tones or bold colors (glazes will only be introduced briefly due to time constraints). The dried pieces will then be fired in the biscuit kiln.
On request, Sylvia can apply the transparent clear glaze for glossy, waterproof and food-safe results. You can pick up your finished work later or have it sent to you.
At the end of the course, you will not only have your first own ceramic in your hands – but also lots of new ideas and inspiration.
