Porträt – Relief
Weekly course, full day
Carvers and sculptors with some experience
Step by step you will learn the technique of bas-relief and convert a portrait photo directly into wood (without creating a model beforehand). Through precise work and the use of many measuring points, the model is transferred to your piece of wood on a scale of 1:1 and carved. Patience and accuracy are crucial for a good result. Finally, the carved portrait is painted, if desired, still lifelike with acrylic and oil paints glazing.
Please bring high-resolution photos with you (only 1 head, if possible several photos to choose from). The head size should be between 12 and 18 cm. This is transferred 1:1 and thus corresponds to the original size of the relief. The carved relief size will be approx. 30 x 20 cm.
