Modelling a Head/Portrait in Clay

Day Course

Target Audience:

Beginner and Advanced

An introduction in the proportions and the anatomy of the head is given at the beginning of this course. After creating a fitting, the head is modelled with clay. This can either be done massively or as a hollow piece (so that the head can be kiln-fired afterwards). The course instructor will help you with all work steps and give tips on how to give your modelled head a distinctive character.

Important information:

The shape of the head can be chosen freely. The necessary amount of clay or plasticine can be brought from home or purchased from the school.
